    The glazed brick takes a bright role more and more often in new developments, renovation and restoration: a brightness that does not fade rapidly. Ceramic materials last for hundreds if not thousands of years. That certainly applies to a glazed brick.  

    Everything is possible

    You don’t have to feel limited by the 43 basic colours. Nearly all RAL colours can be realized on a project basis, whether or not with finishes such as pearl, metallic and glitter. Finishing with transparent glaze is also possible so that the underlaying brick colour remains visible.

    Selecting the colour, brightness level and any extra effects of a glazed brick is just a first step. The shape of the brick is also crucial. Just like the brickwork bond and the jointing: All the details have to match to achieve the right effect.

    For architects with special wishes, we regularly undertake a research project into the various options in terms of color, color nuances, texture, shape, effects and degree of gloss.

    Renovatie de Beurs van Berlage, Damrak, Amsterdam. Architect: Bierman Henket architecten met projectarchitect Henk van Laarhoven. Adviseur: van Bremen Bouwadviseurs, Sanne Mouwen en Wietse den Hartog Opdrachtgever: Beurs van Berlage Aannemer: N.J. de Nijs te Warmenhuizen. Bouw Matrialen Handel, BMH: Cementbouw Heemstede, Jan Woudhuizen en Niels Bethlehem. Maatwerk Glazuurstenen in verschillende formaten en 15 kleuren die passen bij de oude stenen: 1 kleur geel, 3 kleur blauw, 4 kleuren bruin, 2 kleuren grijs-wit, 3 kleuren wit en 2 kleuren groen (de laatste loodhoudende glazuur): Een deel van het interieur is aangepast rond de receptie (ruimte 0.012), de oude pantry (ruimte 0.06) nu trap naar souterain, twee toiletgroepen (ruimte 0.05) nu en de tentoonstellingsruimte in de kelder. Jaar van oplevering: 2017 Rode strengperstenen (uni-rood van Panningen): Nieuwe metselwerkboog rechts van huidige receptie (t.p.v. oude pantry). Rood kolenstook Renova van Wienerberger Bemmel: Vervangen van bestaande deur (Stalen dir met rechte latei) naar nieuwe deur aan achterzijde van de Beurs (Beursstraat). Aanpassing van het metselwerk met segmentboog en inboetwerk. Zie bijgaande foto.
